Re: [AMC-list] 304 manual transmission circa 71 or 72

Mr. Maker,

You understood! Yes it is two Javelins, mine and a friends.

I believe we'll have to go with the idea that the friends 304 came from a
car with an auto trans, that for some reason, AMC didn't drill the pilot bearing hole.

Is it possible then to somehow install a T14 three speed manual behind said 304?? Without a pilot bearing hole? My friend seems to remember something about a button that may have been behind the crankflange?? I think it's been too many years since he pulled the 304,
and he can't remember how it went together......

thanks,
Armand

me too. is the 304 out of the car?

maybe it's 2 javelins - his, and his friend's. proceding on that
assumption...

i have -never- heard of an engine with a stick tranny and no pilot
bushing. i -have- heard of auto-tranny cranks without pilots. i
don't think amc went that way, at least since the early '60s.

" The 3-speed is probably a T-14. References are at home.

yup. no t150 until '75.

are you sure his jav had a stick and not an auto?
