Mr. Maker,

You understood! Yes it is two Javelins, mine and a friends.

I believe we'll have to go with the idea that the friends 304 came from a
car with an auto trans, that for some reason, AMC didn't drill the pilot 
bearing hole.

Is it possible then to somehow install a T14 three speed manual behind said 
304??
Without a pilot bearing hole?  My friend seems to remember something about a 
button that
may have been behind the crankflange?? I think it's been too many years 
since he pulled the 304,
and he can't remember how it went together......
