Only difference is 2 different bolt patterns. They used metal and plastic like you see.  Some differences in the later years is how the bolt down.
Some bolted around the base others bolted down by 2 studs on the top of the cover.   I found one that actually have both?!?   Told it came off a Jeep.
Plastic ones are notorious for leaking after time. So everyone wants to go to metal if they have a problem leaking.   There light weight metal ones NOS style then the heavier aluminum ones. Hope this helps.

I have searched all over the internet and asked in several Chebby groups...? I can't even find a Chevy distributor rebuild kit.

The closest I came was Summit sells new centripetal weights and springs.? I can't find the bearing or seals.

Any ideas?

??? two 80s 258s with plastic rocker covers

??? a '74 258 with a metal cover

??? a '67 232 with a metal cover.


Why can't you put metal covers on heads that had the plastic ones?
