Instead of painting, I'd use decals. I have some friends that run a
wholesale auto striping company.. they'd print me out whatever decals I want
very cheaply. I'm their computer tech support guy too.
There
must have been a real need for some kind of anti-hop setup for it to be offered
as a factory option. My car was an original 304. I'm not sure, but I
might have gotten factory installed speakers on the rear pillars (near the
hatch). I also had the optional sporty steering wheel... guess mine had a
few options. I'll have to look into that some day...
Anyway, cheers

Thanks for the pic's. So I take it
there were one on each side? Nice factory touch, a poor mans 4 bar suspension
from the factory. Another thing AMC was ahead of their times on. Hey my new
Hornet is painted from the factory orange with Turbine wheels on it. I just
couldn't bring myself to paint the 01 on the doors and the flag on the roof, I
am trying to keep this car a low profile driver not like my other Yellow
flamed one.
