A case could be made I guess for those two Gremlins I recently sold on ebay. The sum of parts were worth more than whole cars. One sold for $250 thr other, which ran, drove and stopped sold for whopping $310, which is abuot cost to fill up a twin tank Ford F150. Here is another two I guess, I sold on ebay a front valance for 71-74 AMX & Javelin to a fellow in IA; and another fellow bought my last fiberglass front spoiler for a 71-74 abut 5 weeks ago on ebay. The valance I qouted the guy $32 to ship to Waterloo, IA, while the spoiler I qouted the guy $41 to ship to Westfield, MI.

 

In the time it took (4-5 weeks) for them to send me payment for the items, FedEx changed shipping rates. So NOW the valance was $40.88.....so I ate $888 in shipping there, while the spoiler jumped from $41 to $58.33...and ate $17.33 on that.

 

So Joe, I feel your pain, not all that glitters is amc gold! And I will have to watch FedEx, and UPS, who seems to want to change shipping rates as much as gas prices and corn.

 If you pay too much for anything it will be hard to get your money back.  Shipping and or cost of getting most cars kills the good deal you would have had if you didn't have to ship. There is a 73 6 cyl gremlin X about a block from me. It has very little rust but some major dents in the quarter. Needs major work and the guy said he wants 2800 for it as that is what he has in it after getting it from NC. It needs a  full resto. Think he can get 2800? I don't It is a 1200 car at best.

 It is all relavent.
