PS one thing I mentioned to several people in recent memory, not sure if
here also, is that tilt (Adjust_O-Tilt!) AMC steering columns are hot. Why? As
AMCers get older, fatter, lazier, whatever, more and more people want to add
tilt to their AMC. The earlier 68-70 columns are really difficult to find and my
last two (AMX & Javelin 68-69) sold in the $800 range. However, one can get
Gremlin & Hornet tilts for usually $75-$250 depending on whether column or
floor shift type with the floor shift ones being most desirable. That way when
driving to a AMC meet holding Big Gulp, whle texting on Blackberry while putting
on eyeliner and shaving and glancing at Hemmings Muscle Machines while inhaling
a DQ Dude steering with left leg (right one used for gas pedal dummy; unless big
beer gut doing driving on bottom of wheel, works well) then you are free to look
at scenery. And with tilt you can easily multi task while driving. And it makes
it easier to get out of your AMC so jaws of life ain't called when attempting to
exit vehicle. So suggestion to any AMCer is to buy tilt columns.
