How about many of the Subaru 5-door designs? Don't they also look similar to the PACER, just a bit more "squared" and stretched (4 side doors instead of 2)?

"Up-grade my estimate(--total guess)?to over 2 million AMCs from '54-78.?? --'Loved Gremlins & Hornets--easily kept-up with most traffic, even with base engines.? Different looking, reliable AC."The Gremlins & Hornets sold well for AMC & is what kept AMC in business in the 1970s. Reliable? Yes, I drive a number of them DAILY in 2013 and always have driven AMC, no big deal, start car, drive, go to point A come home to point B whether road trip to Corpus Christi, or across Houston. I like wagons AMC built too:http://www.planethoustonamx.com/amc-station-wagons.jpgPaige just drove off with kids to the poll off westview about hour ago, she has taken a liking to that low miler 82 Concord woodie wagon. Was 39K when bought, it has never been out of Houston since sold new here at Vance & Sons AMC on bellaire. Now has 59K miles on it."With most viewing the Gremlin as a "lemon" I was shocked over 600K unit were produced. Some how if they were all that bad I don't think so many would have gotten built."The Gremlins, Pacer always got a bad rap. Now...in 2013 look at cars around you & see how many have no ass end like Gremlin. How many are rolling aquariums like Pacer, all design lines from AMC many decades ago.http://www.planethoustonamx.com/stuff/amc-pacer-nissan-lexus-toyota.htm"I know AMC wasn't a brand until about 1958 or so, But it was a Manufacturer since 1954. So weather they were called Hudson, Nash, Rambler, Eagle, Jeep, or AM General I'd love to know how many were built in total."=============================="American Motors was founded in 1954, but didn't use "AMC" as a brand name until 1967, when the Rambler name was dropped from the Ambassador and Marlin models. "Rambler" was only used on the American for 68, and the American/Rogue was simply known as the "Rambler" in 1969 -- the last year Rambler was used as a brand or model name in the US. AMCs continued to wear the Rambler brand name overseas, so you could get a Rambler Javelin in Australia. It was used until sometime in the mid 70s in Mexico, then dropped in favor of VAM (the joint venture company that produced AMCs in Mexico). On page 128 of the "American Motors Family Album" (1976 version) there is a photo of the last Rambler coming off the assembly line. The caption says that from early 1950 through the 69 model year 4,204,925 Rambler models were produced. That figure presumably excludes the 67+ Marlin and Ambassador and all 68-69 models that didn't bear the Rambler name (except the Rogue). Well, that's everything BUT AMC branded vehicles (from 1958-66 all AMC products were Ramblers. that 4 mil+ figure includes 50-57 Nash and Hudson Ramblers as well)."I would be curious as to how many lumped in from 1900's Rambler modelshttp://www.planethoustonamx.com/press_photos/02rambler.jpgto last Eagle builthttp://www.planethoustonamx.com/stuff/last_amc_built.htmwere built. That would include Jeep under AMC banner, Nash, Hudson under AMC name, VAM and so forth.Eddie StakesPlanet Houston AMX713.464.8825 dayseddiestakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxwww.planethoustonamx.com ------------------------------------Yahoo!
