Yes - you can do an all steel tilt .

Might use a BMW 325 Tilt hood system
on a nice 'Glass Nose - for better results.

The Steel would need to be 'glued together
with welds that won't fracture at seams
when the Nose twists and flexes from
it's own weight.

Bracing is recommended.

I'd save the scarce parts in storage - 
go 'Glass - Tell the shop it is for 
'Daily Street Use' and to 
brace it up with stiffeners.
