Hey, Karla, care to get your man to give us a How-To on making a similar
setup to save our precious gas caps? I have several of the lighter stainless
steel Gremlin gas caps that'd I'd hate to lose as much as the heavier
pot-metal chromed decorative types. Now THIS is a much-needed technical
discussion! He didn't have to drill any holes in the car did he? <Gasp!>
AFAIC, the Spirit Sedan can be discussed here. I know it's not a "true"
Gremlin, but it does share the basic body design other than the unique rear
quarters, and I DO happen to like the Kammback design, whether with little
bitty window, or a big honkin' pane of glass behind the driver. :)
Mildred, I also am sorry to hear of your job loss. I realize that
American jobs , mostly production/manufacturing, are going south, but
eventually, the money the Mexicans ( er, make that southern continental
Americans ) make will return to us, as they have to buy SOMETHING from us
eventually to improve their lifestyles! Alot of people don't like NAFTA, but
look at what happened in Afghanistan after the Soviet invasion, and in
Palestine...with no money or jobs, and no hope of a better life, only strife
will result as the kids and young people have NOTHING to look forward to.
This may be painful to our country now, but eventually, it should help us
out. We can't ignore poverty anymore outside our own borders, or risk further
loss of our status with the world, not to mention security. We Americans
already do MORE for other countries in crisis around the world than most
others, I realize, but as rich as we are in resources, we can help others out
even more, and we should do so. I also lost a job about 9 months back, yet
found one that both satisfying and challenging, and hopefully will be
providing me with lots MORE money than the old one did. It is in a computer
security business, which is highly relevant since 9-11. I hope you find
another job to your likeing soon, took me 4 months, and I found it with the
help of a car club member from one of my Chevy clubs. So dont' be afraid to
ask your friends and social circle for help locating something, you never
know what may pan out! Good luck,
Jerry in Virginia
