V8 Mutt you say??and no.s matching??were talking about the sorriest
gremlin
ever made man,the audi pwd ones died fast and the "poor"sches you refer
with
the same engines were piles of crap as well!!!
*snip* A V8 in a Built Grem is Mojo - lack of number matching in
these cases add up to a solid : "So What....."
- . -
tho its true about the audi or
4 banger pwd grem having weaker front ends and crossmembers, but my grem
only
has a V8 crossmember i still am using the 6's front sus.
*snip* Agreed - so why go the distance of clipping the front end with
another Gremlin 6 front end - installing a 500lbs. Cast Iron V8 to make
300+HP
when you can drop in a 944turbo at half the weight penalty and make
300+HP ?
- . -
if i were this guy
i'd make a V8 screamer out of it or better yet part it or trade it for a
6
banger grem theres 0 value for 6 and especially 4 banger grems most 4
banger
AMCs were avoided like the plague.the only grems that are of sort of
decent
value are the factory 304 ones i'm sorry to burst
* snip * Agreed - however, 10 years down the road when there are O
of these Audi Gremlins around - wonder what the AMC crowd with
the cash will pay for a one of none ?
Take a look at that "Decal Machine Matador" -
which has nothing going for it other than it once sported
some Factory "Machine" decals - : Regular Matador $1.500.00 .
Machine Matador : $30K .
- . -
your bubble about these
fantasy turbo porsche pwd grems you yap about Brien but thankfully i'm
here
to bring you back to reality!!
*snip*
Hey BART!.......catch up Herr GruppenFuhrer .....I'm not sniffin' for
Props on this one..
I've read one more manual on exchanges than you've gotten to........maybe
your SpiderMan Comic addiction might pay off tho.......
The 944 Turbo drivetrain will go into this rig - yes, I'd brace up the
framework
and swap in some "Turbo Grade" brakes - but 'bubba' - it is virtually a
bolt in.
AMC in some infinite wisdom had their eyes on this very combination -
Time - Case - Fate delta that it was never acomplished.
There was an article on a 944turbo swap into an Audi Powered Gremlin -
author believed it could be one of the more ferocious AMCs' in street
trim.
AND - pop the bonnet at an AMC show - with 944turbo power - Intercooled >
LiteWeight Polished Alloy?
Bottom Line is :
If this Lister wants a V8 Gremlin - sell the Audi Unit to someone who
will either restore it or build it correct for application using a bolt
in
944turbo drivetrain -
rather than butchering the car to bring it into a 6 banger Gremlin
configuration -
wasting cash - time - and destroying a slow but virtually non - existent
example of AMC Gremlin bloodline .
When the 6 Grems are still to be had for under a Gnote in runnig shape -
W-T-F ?
