8th Gremlin appears on the scene...and my home is falling apart...

Well, I finally had to "get off the pot" and go get the "free" Gremlin,
or lose it. So, Sunday morning I got out and after many blue words, got my
ol' '74 Chevy 3/4 ton truck repaired, needed a new thermostat ( and also the
housing, luckily I found a chromed one ). Got the truck loaded with tools and
gear, and headed south to get my newest addition, keeping my fingers crossed
the truck would haul the goods. It's a green metallic Gremlin, rebuilt 258
which doesn't run, tranny in the back seat. I wound up towing it without
securing the motor, it was flopping back and forth probably...didn't hear it
drop out on the road ! LOL. Hope it didn't make too much damage to the
firewall. I meant to strap it up, but forgot, it was getting dark and late.
Anyway, got it to my friend's house, he's going to get the motor as a gift
for letting me keep the car there awhile ( he has 4 Willys Jeeps ). The body
is fairly good, was a beach car, the right side which was parked facing the
ocean is rusting some, but the floors were solid, just the fender and door
were a problem. Driver's glass was down, wouldn't roll up. Hopefully this car
will replace the primered project '76 which will soon start being
disassembled as no one wants it whole. Oh well. I"ll get a better car in it's
place.
I also have to get my friend's '72 Gremlin out of the seller's yard this
coming weekend, it'll probably come to my house first for awhile. So I'll
have to park the '74 gold Gremlin outside the gate, maybe on the street , for
awhile. Too much stuff! LOL. Anyway, my post-marriage problems continue, as
the wiring in my house is deteriorating and causing major problems, the whole
first floor is basically out except some outlets in the kitchen and living
room. SUCKS! A new home wiring job without the drywall up is $5,000 to
$7,000, but I "only" need the first floor...but I'll to rip out some plaster
to do it. DAMN. This is really gonna hurt, I just don't have that kind of
money. The basement and upstairs wiring is fairly new, both had been finished
in "modern" times, so there's modern wiring there, just not on the main
floor. Meaning all the main floor rooms. I'm going to call my Insurance
Company, see if I'm covered, if not, it's going to be a DIY project, one
outlet at a time. Darn, darn, darn! The ceiling wiring is part of the
problem, too. I just can't catch a break since I got married. Everything is
dropping on me at once, it seems. At least the marriage is going ok! LOL. And
I'm even getting along nicely with the teen, he's trying to help with the
robbery info on his friends, keeping tabs on them.
Well, guess I"ll maybe play with some hobbies tonight, try to take my
mind off the mess I have on my hands. Hope all of you are having "good times"
now, I am not! Later on ,
Jerry in Virginia ( still got my health <ouch, I'm sore!> )
