Boy I sure am glad that J.C. "Whiplash" still sells a 4bbl intake for
my ole
Chevy straight 6!

4bbl. For AMC inline 6 engines :
Use the 1981 - 1986 AMC 6
water heated / cooled Aluminum
Alloy Intake Manifold .
Get the 4bbl. to 2bbl. Intake Adapter
for $14.00 from Mr. Gasket .
Get a Holley 390cfm 4bbl. carb & hook up.
The Top Moab Jeep Race Engine Builders
prefer this set up - must have something
to it.........?
The Modded Stock AMC intake is Better
than the Clifford 4 bbl. $$$
unit for Street Use .
The Clifford Plenum is slow to respond in
street use - since it is very large to supply
mixture at High RPM - Racing for the most
part .
The 2bbl. AMC intake opening acts as
a Venturi - when placed under a 4bbl.
adapter - a Venturi effect is something
Cylinder Head Porting Firms build into
Flowed Street Heads as well as Racing
Units. You get this capacity from a
Stock AMC Intake.
AMC spent a lot of $$ on its' development.
Run the same year stock exhaust manifold -
or go with a Header - take a look at Borla
Stainless Steel .
As to the Chevy StoveBolt - ask Bart .
Brien.
