After a good look at the head, I can say reasonably sure that it's the Nash head, no an aftermarket head. I've seen Edmunds aftermarlet heads, and don't know of any other maker. This head appears to be nearly identical to the cast iron version. Nash made a dual carb head for the 196 for 1955 only! This may actually be a rarer item than the aftermarket head.

Holee ka-rap that is indeed a rare thing. It's for the 196 in-head
motor. I have never owned one of those motors though I admire them from
afar and would like to hotrod one.

I can't afford it at all! but I will watch this one! If anyone on this
list is serious about buying it please let me know; I'll refrain from
bidding.
