" i can't afford a new windshield. this one has 1 crack running top to
" bottom. it won't survive being removed. donor car has been shot with
" bb's many times, so its no go also. theres one on feebay that would
" cost "ABOUT" $581 to have shipped from NJ. i don't want to hold faith
" in it ariving to eastern oregon unbroken. then the gasket costs
" another $100.

have you tried local glass shops?

when i needed a new windshield for my american, i called around and
got a quote of $180 installed [late '90s]. when they said they had 4
left i remarked on my luck at getting one, but they replied 'when we
run out we'll just MAKE MORE...' it is apparently easy, as long as
they still have the pattern.

and they reused my gasket without any problems.

other glass is another problem. nobody makes that any more, and when
i needed a rear window it cost me twice what the windshield did.
