<snip>
but all these parts are old stuff now (referring to using AMC factory
disk brakes), so someone - observing that
ford used the same wheel bearings - came up with the 'scarebird' kit
using fairly late-model mustang rotors [and calipers?].
====================================

The Scarebird kit was developed by Scarebird LLC, which has done many similar kits for other classic cars. AMC was the latest just a few years ago. The kit has gone through a couple iterations. It has always used GM calipers, still does. They started out with a Ford Ranger rotor, now use a Toyota Previa rotor that requires using drum brake hubs or turning the rotors off an old AMC rotor (worn out rotor is fine, of course!). The differences in spindle height between disk and drum models, and even V-8 and six cylinder caused some issues. They have worked to make it as easy a bolt-on as possible, and are always refining the mix of parts and the design as needed.
