If you have a trailer hitch, check the wiring to it first for shorts then if nothing, check the bulbs aren't shorted inside.

 AMC Matador. 1st I had no rear left turn signal when the head lights 
were on. It worked for about 2 minutes today and blew the running & 
brake light fuse. I replaced the fuse and now I have the turn signal but
 no running or brake lights! It has a new headlight switch, dimmer 
switch, fuse, and turn signal relay. I tried several fuses just to be 
sure. I'm not good with electronics so what do I look at next?
