Doing the "driveway shuffle"...6 Gremlins in back, 1 Pacer out front...

?? I finally got around to doing the "driveway shuffle" this weekend, and
moved 5 dead cars around ( correction - 4 dead, Pacer was limping at least).
Looked like a solo Stooge operation ( the other 2 weren't available ), but I
got all 6 Gremlins in the back driveway now, the wife's
need-to-be-resuscitated-VW Scirocco-to-sell and my Pacer came out front finally, after being parked in
back for quite a while ( I think it's been OVER 2 years now! Both wounded ).
The wife has decided she doesn't need the "sports car" now, and I want to get
the Pacer back on the road as a spare car. And I can work on the '74 Gremlin
closer to the garage, as it is undergoing far more than the Pacer is ( or will
be ) for now. SO, now that the Pacer is accessible and running again ( it only
took about 20 seconds of cranking for it to start , Wow! ), I need some
options for replacing my '79 wagon leafs. I've heard ESPO only does stock, and I
think I want' something more than the barely adequate 4-leaf system in place
now. Maybe a 5-leaf setup? Anyone done one from ordering leafs ? The one closest
spring place in northern Virginia got bought out, I think, and one other is
the one I had BAD luck with the last time I ordered Pacer springs from them, so
won't go back there. So, it's either a long tow somewhere, or attempt to do
them again myself. Neither one is an option I like, but I want and need to get
this car fixed, or sell it if not! I already have a grand in the rebuilt auto
trans, so don't want to have to sell the car, or lose money on it. If you have
any suggestions for leaf springs, please tell me!
?? Anyway, got some of the pinetags off the car, checked and filled up low
fluids , and will be heading out to buy a car cover for it and the VW to "hide"
the dead tags. :) Don't need hassles from The Man now. Been there, been thru
it, etc. If I can only wait 6 more weeks, I can get antique tags for the Pacer,
and be done with Inspections and Emissions forever! Yahoo! That'll take care
of that legality, I still have insurance on the car, even though the tags have
been dead for 2 years. At least I'm going to try to make progress on some of
my AMC projects, got far too many dead and dying and needing attention. WInter
is coming, and I'd like the hard repairs done before then, if possible.
?? Well, that's all for now, maybe this Gremlin guy will get his Pacer back
on the road first before any Kammies do. Most likely will be the case. :) Have
a great weekend, all.

Jerry in Virginia
