A: JUst a small word of warning: If you are going carb (and you are in an emission test area) you would be better off with an '87 to '90 head (Renix) and stock header. It has the EGR pipe like the carbed manifold (if you don't retard your cam, it'll ping like crazy or the knock sensor will keep timing heavily retarded) The HO EFI system is what makes more power over the Renix. The throttle body is larger opening and the injectors are larger plus the cam retarding (done through the timing gears) pushes the power band higher, increases the HP and torque peaks. The rest is done through the port design of the head (raising them so air is directed in a straighter flow at the valve opening) That is why the upgrade of the last intake manifold makes more oomph.

1991 or newer. These are high port, H.O. (High Output) heads
used on all
4.0L Engines.
