Re: [AMC-list] AMC-list Digest, Vol 9, Issue 28

The one I looked at in Mass. was still a tow truck, or recently retired. It
was being sold by a business, a small scroungy one that a high-school era
neighbor/friend worked at, near the Franklin/Medway border or therebouts.
1975? It was white, if I recall. It was rough, as you'd expect from a
working truck. My friend Fosco and I were generalized car nuts, me Ramblers
him Studebakers mostly, some Nashcan woods cars, and we loved the oddballs
and orphans.

I stumbled on this friend by accident, stopped in front of where he worked
(but was working on his own car, weekend probably, I worked at Bose then)
saw the truck, etc. I recall being shocked at a 'nash truck' so it was rare
(to us known-nothing kids) at the time.

This Crosley wagon was beside the garage in Holliston. We use to go down
there every so often and look at the terrible wrecks out back (bloody
windshields and all that; hey we were 18 - 20). It was the default police
tow shop. We all knew how to open beer bottles at speed using the door latch
wheel, took some effort to hold the door open to do it. Fosco and I used to
greet each other on the street by switching lanes passing each other. Ahh,
good times.
